A XXX Fitness Workout That Will Make Your Knees Weak

Sorry to disappoint but it is not the XXX you are thinking and no, I am not talking about pole dancing classes either! What I am talking about is over the weekend I had the privilege to attend a workshop and be trained as an instructor on the Trixter X bike.

Now, those of you that know me know how much I love to teach indoor cycle. Well, let me tell you, the X bike and the workouts that come along with the training are awesome. It has been a long time since I had such a great workout cycling indoors and I absolutely LOVED working out on the X bike. My quads were on fire and I was dripping with sweat after 30 minutes. If you are a little crazy like me you just love it when you get off totally spent.

Okay, so what I find so unique and different about the X bike is the fact the workout is much more engaging. The X bike is different from other bikes on the market in several ways. First, the X bike does not have a fixed fly wheel. It is set up like a normal bike and the gear shifter adds resistance. Let’s just say you can’t cheat on this bike and after 30 minutes your quads are on fire. Another great aspect that differentiates this bike from others is the fact the handle bars moved from left to right and allow you to engage your core and upper body. The finally aspect is the programming is really unique.

Now, not only is the workout more engaging but the programming is unique. There are three levels starting with the 30 minute X program and working up to the hour long XXX advanced program. I can tell you after experiencing all three programs that each one is unique, different and challenging, which gives beginners to advanced cyclists a great workout.

The final thing that I loved so much about the Trixter X bike is the VRX biking program. If you are a club owner or fitness program director you have got to check this out. The VRX biking is like a virtual ride outdoors. Not only is it a unique and something that differentiates your club and group exercise programming, but it serves another purpose as well. Instead of seeing your cycle room sit empty and only used when you have a class the VRX biking allows you to have the virtual trainer taking members through a routine whenever you want to have the video running. This helps maximum revenue and expense per square foot. Also, as you well know, more and more of the virtual fitness training is where the industry is moving and the VRX biking is a great way to integrate that into your club.

So in conclusion, all I can say is you have to at least try the X bike and see for yourself what I am talking about. If you are an owner or fitness manager and want to learn more about the Trixter bikes feel free to contact me or an independent dealer for more info.

To your success,

Jack Lalanne a Fitness Icon will be missed

Yesterday, a true fitness icon passed away at the age of 96. He will be missed dearly! Now, most of us know him as a fitness icon but he was also a philosopher and great motivator. The video below is from one of his TV shows. Take a look and his message applies just as much today as it did back then.

Jack Lalanne, thanks for paving the way and being a great role model for fitness professionals as well as all the people you inspired to become healthier.

What Is Self Help

What is Self Help?

George Carlin on self help:
“I went to the bookstore and asked the salesperson, ‘where’s the self-help section?’ She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.”

This type of reality shock may be a turning point where you discover that you have to depend on you.

The turning point for most of us comes when we realize we can improve our lot in life. The moment we accept that we are not controlled by outside events; rather, we are dominated by your own thoughts and actions.

It is at this point in time that most of us turn to some sort of self help.

Webster defines self help as the action or process of bettering oneself or overcoming one’s problems without the aid of others. Changing ones self.

The Four Types of Self Help.

Self help can be designated as one of four types:

1. The AHA or epiphany moment – where a person has a dramatic moment of absolute clarity and direction. Their life pivots and is never the same.
Like the moment when an alcoholic  hits  bottom.
It is the instant when a realization impacts your consciousness, and you know that life must change and only you can change it.
It can be a moment when the solution to a problem, you’ve been struggling with, becomes crystal clear. You know without a doubt how to deal with it.

2. One on one help comes when you feel you can no longer handle the situation alone, you can no longer keep everything inside.
You may seek counseling with a psychologist, therapist, or spiritual leader.
Perhaps you simply talk to a confidant such as your best friend.

3. Group interaction.  Groups emphasize face to face interaction.
The act or state of solving one’s problems by joining or forming a group designed to help those suffering from a particular problem, such as Alcoholics Anonymous or other twelve step programs.
There are many help programs through community, churches, social groups; or paid groups such as those for weight loss and so forth.
Self help groups are voluntary. They are for the mutual aid and accomplishment of a special purpose. It is a group of peers coming together for common mutual assistance.

4. Individual self help can be accomplished by reading and reeducating your self. You gain clarity into a problem or situation and overcome it by yourself.
It usually involves reading and studying self help books and doing research.
Otherwise know as self improvement, self help refers to the acts of an individual to improve themselves with or without assistance from anyone else.

The term, self help, refers to any measure used to improve mental, physical, financial or spiritual conditions. By means of books or other reference materials.

It is the act of providing help for oneself without assistance from others.

Individual self help emphasizes change done by oneself, like coping with one’s personal or emotional problems without professional help.

I’ve personally participated in all four types. They are all beneficial.

I still attend meetings, conduct individual and group sessions and write self help Ebooks. Don’t limit yourself to any one.

Self help is the acquiring of information for the solving of one’s problems. Those of a psychological nature, without direct supervision of professionals or experts. Independent reading, joining lay groups pertaining to your problem.

Read a book, an article, or take a home study course that offers information or counseling intended to be personally beneficial or profitable IE: self help books.

The best way to bring about change and self improvement is to begin.

Albert Einstein said:
“Nothing happens until something moves.”

The healthy spirit of self help serves to raise people from despair.

It  advances them in intelligence, virtue, and spiritual growth.

Four actions you need to take before you set out on the road to self help:
  1. Forgive yourself
  2. Forgive others
  3. Accept yourself
  4. Accept others

Samuel Smiles:
“The spirit of self-help is the root of all genuine growth in the individual.”

Jim Rohn:
“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plans. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”

Whichever type or types of self help you choose it should:
  Be beneficial not harmful
  Improve your attitude
  Positively change your behavior
  Improve your environment
  Educate your subconsciousness
  Enlighten your consciousness
  Include self forgiveness
  Bring about self acceptance
  Improve your self esteem

John Wooden:
“Remember this, the choices you make in life, make you”

Summary

Apply what you learn and make real the life you’ve always dreamed of living.

Too often we limit ourselves. How sad, when we could learn to live extraordinary lives.

We can be happier, healthier, and more prosperous. Find your source(s) of self help and go for it.

C.R. Law:
“Unless you try to do something beyond what you have mastered, you will never grow.”

Google Places Is King when it comes to Local Online Search

Are you still doing the same old traditional advertising and marketing? Sure, I still believe you need to use several differnet mediums to connect to your target market but I am about to tell you a new way that is going to change how you market to your clients. Have you heard of Google Places? I know most of you have heard of Google, but Google Places is still unknown to most businesses. Most of us realize that about 80% of our business comes from a radius of 7 miles, which means local search is king. You see, Google realized that as well and they went out and created 50 million listings that range from all sorts of businesses. Have you claimed yours yet? My guess is probably not because as of this writing my research concludes that only 2% of U.S. listings have been claimed.

Now what exactly is Google Places and why should you care? Well, let’s answer the first question about what is Google Places. Google Places essentially is a local search engine run by Google. For instance, let’s say you were looking for a gym in Dallas TX and you go to Google and type in the search box “Gyms in Dallas TX.” Google then realizes that you are doing a local search and based on your current zip code that they have on file for you, Google then displays results for gyms in the Dallas area that are listed. You may have recognized this by the little tear drop and letter associated with the exact spot on the map. Now, I know what your thinking, “Okay, but so what, nothing too spectacular there.” Well ,it gets better I promise, which now leads me to why you should care.

Google Places is King and here is why you should care:

  • Place search results will automatically start showing when google predicts you searching for local
  • More information than typical organic results
  • Sometimes have pictures or videos
  • They show reviews
  • Linked to directions and maps
  • In many cases the search results are above organic rankings
  • Maps drive sales
  • Maps are the new “Yellow Pages”
  • Maps are mobile
  • To be effective in the future you will need to fuse mobile and search

And that is just the start of local search and Google Places. More and more people are using local search and social media to decide where they want to spend there dollars. Where else could you go and find reviews, pictures, and videos. Sure, you can have a website but people will need to know to typ in your URL or maybe you will be lucky to be on the first page of search, however, if you are listed in Google Places you show up regardless.

Now this is just the start like I said there is much more to be discussed and I plan on doing so in future posts. So, what are you waiting for, go claim your Google Places listing and start using local search to drive your business.

If you want to learn more how I can help you with your local search you can contact me here or sign up for my services where I can do it for you.
